I hate to do it,but I need to feed my kids. I have to sell my prized 1969 Gibson EB-2 Bass. This bass actually belonged to G Gordon Liddy. I guess he was quite the bass player in his day. The story goes,he was visiting the White House back in 1970. Nixon invited him and a bunch of other guys over for a “guy’s night”. They drank beer and bowled. Liddy happened to have his bass in his van and Nixon wanted to jam with him. Apparently Nixon was quite the piano player in his day. So long story short,by the end of the night,Liddy had the boys sign his bass. Amongst the signatures on this bad boy are John Mitchell, H R Haldeman, John Ehrlichman, John Dean, and Chuck Colson. Hell, even Kissinger signed it! I’m not 100% certain, but Rumsfeld and Cheney’s signatures might be on here as well. It’s hard to tell. Apparently it was quite a night. There’s even a couple of blood stains on it. I can’t confirm it,but I was told Rumsfeld and Kissinger got into a heated battle and Kissinger cracked the bass over Rumsfeld’s head. Again,I can’t confirm this. But there is defenitely blood on it. I think $100,000.00 for this bass is reasonable in light of it’s history.
