pterodactyls asked: What is your signature dance move? If you don't have one, describe what you'd like to happen when the song "Teach Me How To Lemon Ice Forever" comes on.
My signature dance move is The Monkey, simply because it is the best dance move a person can do, though if one were to graph “drinks I have had” versus “whether the dance in question is The Monkey or The Jerk,” the correlation would be more or less direct until I became too drunk to dance at all.
“Teach Me How To Lemon Ice Forever,” though, is an interesting question, one that sounds like a Raymond Carver short story title, and one that bears responding to regardless. I recently told the proprietress of Lulinternet the meaning of “Lemon Ice Forever” when she asked me about it after I asked her to send me some stickers, and it occurred to me that I don’t think I’d ever really told anybody else. Four or so years ago, I told someone, I can’t remember who, that I wanted it to be my epitaph. I don’t want that anymore, and I don’t even consider myself particularly fond of lemon ice, but remotely poetic-sounding things escape my mouth so rarely that when it came time to name this blog, just over two years ago, it was the first thing that came to mind.
So to answer that second question, I would probably teach them how to say one meaningless but vaguely profound-sounding thing every two or three years.
